MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521042810 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Gandhinagar on May 02, 2025, for Electrode Materials And A Process For Their Preparation.
Inventors include Satpathy, Biraj Kanta; Arjit, Kumar; and Misra, Superb.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT ELECTRODE MATERIALS AND A PROCESS FOR THEIR PREPARATION The present disclosure relates to a matrix of a mixture of copper oxide-cobalt oxide nanoparticles, a binder and activated carbon as electrode materials. The mixture of copper oxide-cobalt oxide nanoparticles of the present disclosure is derived from metal organic frameworks (MOF). The MOF derived mixed metal oxide nanoparticles of the present disclosure used as cathode materials in the supercapacitors provide high specific capacitance, high power density, high energy density and cyclic stability. The process for the preparation of electrode materials of the present disclosure is simple and economical. The supercapacitors employing copper oxide-cobalt oxide nanoparticles as cathode materials are used in electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy storage, and portable gadgets.
