MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531019411 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Kharagpur on March 04, 2025, for Electrochemical L-Dopa Sensing..

Inventors include Abhijit Narayan Eshore; Priyanka Dutta; and Prof. Prasanta Kumar Guha.

The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.

Abstract: Abstract Title: Electrochemical L-Dopa Sensing A senor based device for direct identification of L-Dopa utilizing said sensor is provided based on a synthesized inorganic perovskite structure (ABO3), where the A site contains elements from the lanthanum group (e.g., La, Nd, Sm) and the B site is occupied by metal (e.g., Fe). This material is synthesized through cost-effective chemical methods such as hydrothermal, sol-gel, or co-precipitation processes, exhibiting stability in humid conditions. Characterization techniques, confirm crystallinity and surface morphology. The sensor undergoes electrochemical testing using the screen printed electrodes modified by the synthesized nanomaterial following which the performance is evaluated through cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) for detecting L-Dopa at sub-micromolar concentrations.
