The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The titled invention discloses a real-time electricity theft detection and localization 5 system for a low-voltage electrical power distribution network, comprising upstream current sensors (1), downstream current sensors (2), a microcontroller (4), a Global Positioning System (GPS) module (9), a communication module (10), and a monitoring interface (11). The system continuously monitors upstream and downstream current values, calculates RMS and average current values, and determines the ratio of 10 downstream current to upstream current. When the calculated current ratio remains below a predetermined threshold for a predefined duration, the system identifies unauthorized electricity tapping and generates an alert. The GPS module (9) determines the geographical location of the monitored transformer segment, while the communication module (10) transmits theft alerts containing transformer identification, 15 GPS coordinates, current values, calculated current ratio, and timestamp to registered utility personnel. The monitoring interface (11) provides real-time display of current measurements and theft status, thereby enabling continuous and location-aware monitoring of electricity theft across the power distribution network.
