MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101069 A) filed by Vivek Verma on August 21, 2026, for Electrically Heated Hybrid Steam-Based Gasifier With Multi-Zone Conversion For High-Efficiency Carbonaceous Feedstocks Utilization.
Inventor includes Vivek Verma.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrically heated, multi-deck gasification reactor for thermochemical conversion of biomass and other carbonaceous feedstocks into synthesis gas and ethanol. The reactor comprises a substantially cylindrical reaction chamber having vertically spaced reaction decks, distributed electrical heating elements associated with successive reaction zones, and a centrally disposed rotatable shaft carrying scraper ribs for mixing, distributing and progressively transporting feedstock. The reactor further comprises a feed inlet, gasifying-medium and/or steam injection arrangement, a syngas outlet and a lower ash collection and discharge region. Distributed electrical heating enables controlled thermal input without direct combustion of the feedstock, while shaft-driven scraper assemblies regulate solids movement and residence time through successive zones. Controlled steam introduction can promote hydrogen-containing syngas formation and reforming reactions. The integrated multi-zone thermal architecture and mechanically assisted solids transport provide controlled thermochemical conversion of heterogeneous carbonaceous feedstocks in a compact reactor.
