Abstract: ELECTRICAL WIRING SYSTEM The present invention provides an electrical wiring system (100) comprising a continuous alternating current power distribution line (102) arranged in a daisy-chain configuration across load points of a building and a low-voltage wired control network (104), such as a low-voltage CAN control cable (104), routed in parallel to the alternating current power distribution line (102). Wall switch units (108) are connected exclusively to the low-voltage wired control network (104) to transmit encoded control messages without switching mains voltage. A plurality of distributed load interface modules (106) are provided at respective load points, each electrically coupled to the daisy-chained alternating current power distribution line (102) and communicatively coupled to the low-voltage wired control network (104). Each distributed load interface module (106) locally switches or modulates power supplied to a connected electrical load (110) based on the control messages received over the low-voltage wired control network (104).
