Abstract: An electrical connector (100) is disclosed, comprising: a housing (200), which includes a receptacle (110) and a cavity (210). The receptacle (110) is for receiving a terminal (101) along a receiving direction (199), which is a forward direction. The receptacle includes a slot (120) for receiving a blade (102) of the terminal (101). The electrical connector (100) includes a terminal position assurance member, TPA (300), movable in the cavity (210) of the housing (200), along an activation direction (198) which is perpendicular to the receiving direction (199). The TPA (300) includes a blocking arm (310) which extends along the activation direction (198). In a preactivated state (400): a bottom contact surface (320) of the blocking arm (310) of the TPA (300) is adjacent to a stopping surface (230) of a receptacle wall (220) in the housing (200); and the stopping surface (230) of the receptacle wall (220) is configured to prevent further insertion of the TPA (300), downward, along the activation direction (198).
