MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441096597 A) filed by Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery Company Private Limited on December 06, 2024, for Electrical Centre Joint For Excavators.

Abstract: ELECTRICAL CENTRE JOINT FOR EXCAVATORS A connector assembly (50) for an excavator includes an electrical joint (2) mounted on top of a central joint (3) and secured to the excavator’s upper structure (4). The central joint (3) houses a central through-hole (5) through which an alternating current (AC) supply is routed via an electrical harness (6) from a ground line (7) to the electrical joint (2). The electrical joint (2) enables continuous power transmission from the stationary AC supply to a motor (8) in the upper structure (4) while allowing 360-degree rotation of the upper structure (4) relative to the lower structure (9), without twisting the ground line (7) and electrical harness (6) (See FIGS 5-8).
