MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631095834 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology Patna on August 07, 2026, for Electric Vehicle Fleet Routing System And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Rohit, Bandi Anand; Naik, Banavath Balaji; and Tripathy, Santosh Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: An AI-assisted electric vehicle fleet routing system (100) enables real-time management of plurality of electric vehicles operating across a plurality of depots. A data input layer (102) acquires operational information, while a prediction unit (104) generates predictive operational information including battery depletion, charging station occupancy, travel time, traffic conditions, charging demand, and route feasibility. A hybrid optimization unit (106) determines optimized routing solutions, and a multi-objective evaluation unit (108) evaluates candidate routes based on travel time, battery safety margin, charging delay, carbon emissions, fleet utilization, and operational cost. A predictive charging slot reservation unit (110) allocates charging slots and generates charging schedules, where a fleet dispatch system (112) executes optimized routes, continuously monitors fleet operation, and dynamically reconfigures routes and charging assignments. A fleet coordination controller (114) coordinates these units, enabling efficient multi-depot fleet management, improving fleet utilization, reducing travel time, charging delays, carbon emissions, and overall operational efficiency.
