Abstract: ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING WITH A FLOATING CONNECTOR A floating terminal system (100) for an electric vehicle (EV) charging connector includes a terminal pin (102) that forms electrical contact with a corresponding terminal in a charging port (104) to facilitate electric current transfer. The terminal pin (102) is housed within a cylindrical casing (106) and features a conical mating surface (102a) for auto-centering upon disengagement from the charging port (104). A compression spring (108) inside the cylindrical casing (106) exerts force on the terminal pin (102) to maintain alignment and contact with the charging port (104), allowing movement of the terminal pin (102) to accommodate any misalignment (Refer to FIGS. 1A-1C).
