Abstract: An electric rail cruiser is designed for double-ridership mobility of railway field staff along railway tracks, facilitating inspection and maintenance tasks. The cruiser features a motorized vehicle assembly module with a lightweight frame, powered by an electric motor and energy storage unit. It includes a rail engagement system with insulated wheels to prevent interference with track signalling systems. The operator control system allows for speed regulation and braking, while the operator accommodation system provides a seat and deck for the operator. An auxiliary trolley module can be connected to the vehicle assembly module, forming a two-rail system for transporting both the operator and field equipment. The system also includes a safety and visibility system with lights and an electric horn, and a power management system with an ignition switch and charging port. The vehicle can be manually placed on and removed from the rail by a single operator. FIG. 1
