Abstract: The present invention provides an electric drive source the dimension of which is reduced in a vehicle width direction. The electric drive source (1) comprises a motor (2), an output shaft (3) that has a sprocket, a speed reducer (4) that transmits the rotation of the motor (2) to an output shaft (3), and an inverter (6) that outputs a drive current. The inverter (6), the speed reducer (4), and the motor (2) are arranged in this order in the vehicle width direction. The output shaft (3) protrudes from an end edge on one D1 side of a speed reducer case part (11) that covers the speed reducer (4). The end edge on the one D1 side of the speed reducer case part (11) is positioned closer to the vehicle center side than an end edge on the one D1 side of an inverter case part (12) of the inverter (6).
