Abstract: Systems and methods for reverse edgebreaker coding of triangular mesh information. handles in meshes. In a mesh decoding method according to an example embodiment, a bitstream is obtained representing a connectivity of a triangular mesh encoded using edgebreaker coding. Information is read from the bitstream information indicating a direction of the connectivity encoding. A parameter is read from the bitstream indicating a number of triangles in the triangular mesh. Using the parameter indicating the number of triangles in the triangular mesh, the connectivity of the triangular mesh is reconstructed from the bitstream.
