Abstract: ABSTRACT EDITH-J is an intelligent desktop assistant that integrates chat, notes, reminders, desktop automation, and voice interaction into a single system. The application uses a React-based frontend and a Java 25 backend powered by the Javalin web framework, exposing RESTful APIs for all core assistant functions. A unified intent routing pipeline is implemented to classify user input and route it to appropriate modules, including notes, reminders, launcher actions, weather queries, and ATassisted fallback chat. Persistent storage is provided through an SQLite-backed repository layer that maintains chat history, notes, and reminders across sessions, EDTTH-J supports offline speech recognition using a Vosk model and integrates multiple large language model providers such as Groq, Gemini, OpenAT, and Sarvam, configured via environment variables and a centralized edith.properties configuration file. The system is packaged as a shaded JAR and offers an optional Windows installer profile using jpackage, simplifying deployment on end-user desktops. By combining multi-provider AT capabilities with desktop-centric automation and a modular architecture, EDlTTf-J demonstrates a practical approach to building extensible personal assistants for productivity and research workflows on local machines
