Abstract: An edge-enabled artificial intelligence surveillance framework for real-time detection is disclosed, comprising a network of distributed edge nodes each coupled to a video capture device and hosting cooperating autonomous agents for preprocessing, adaptive inference, resource monitoring, federated learning, and cybersecurity trust management. Each edge node locally analyses video frames to detect security-relevant events, including intrusion, abandoned objects, weapon presence, crowd anomalies, and fire or smoke, using an adaptively thresholder combination of appearance, motion, and contextual confidence scores, without transmitting raw video outside the node. A resource monitoring agent selects an appropriately sized detection model variant based on each node's compute, memory, bandwidth, and power availability. Local model updates, rather than raw video, are contributed to an adaptive, trust- and resource- weighted federated aggregation process that produces an improved shared global detection model.
