MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641108129 A) filed by Pragati Engineering College on September 09, 2026, for Edge Ai-Based Intelligent Tire Health Assessment And Predictive Maintenance System For Electric Vehicles.

Inventors include Dr. G. Naresh; Mr. D. Prakasa Rao; Mr. Venkatadurgaprasad Kante; and Mrs. P. Sandhya.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: This invention is directed toward an AI-Based EV Tire Health Prediction System comprising Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), IoT (Internet of Things), Edge Computing and Digital Twin technology. The proposed system includes a multisensory data collection module comprising of tire pressure, tire temperature, vibration, wheel speed, load and GPS sensors which gather continuous data about every tire. The collected data is processed with an embedded edge computing processor, where ML models process sensor data to predict the state of the tire, estimate its Remaining Useful Life (RUL), find any abnormalities in the wear pattern, compute tire failure probability and give maintenance suggestions. Digital Twin module will create a virtual copy of each tire in order to simulate possible degradation of tire with changing operating parameters and make decisions on preventive maintenance. This system will also analyze driving style, road surface condition, rolling resistance, and battery efficiency to increase accuracy of predictions and optimize the electric vehicle performance. The results of prediction will be displayed in a mobile application and optionally on a cloud platform.
