Rama; and Dr. Apparao Thota on August 17, 2026, for Eco-Friendly Soil Stabilization Composition And Method Using Industrial Waste Materials.
Inventors include Mr. Madhusudhan M S; Mr. Santhosh Kumar C V; Ms. Chethana C P; A. Kistan; Dr. S. Rama; and Dr. Apparao Thota.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an eco-friendly soil stabilization composition and a method for improving engineering properties of weak, expansive, compressible and moisture-sensitive soils using industrial waste materials. The composition comprises, in exemplary ranges, about 25% to 45% fly ash, about 20% to 35% granulated blast furnace slag, about 8% to 20% finely ground steel slag, about 5% to 15% rice husk ash, about 5% to 15% quarry dust or stone-processing dust, and about 1% to 5% gypsum or another calcium- sulfate-containing mineral additive, with an optional carbonaceous waste-derived constituent. The composition is prepared by conditioning, proportioning and blending the waste-derived constituents and is applied to soil at a selected dosage followed by moisture adjustment, mechanical mixing, compaction and curing. The combined constituents provide particle packing, pozzolanic and hydraulic reaction, calcium-mediated mineral interaction and mechanical interlocking, thereby improving soil strength, density, bearing capacity and dimensional stability. The invention promotes beneficial utilization of industrial waste materials, reduces dependence on virgin stabilization materials and provides a scalable stabilization solution for roads, embankments, pavements, foundations, industrial yards and other soil-supported infrastructure.
