Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a biodegradable microbiological inoculating loop designed for laboratory applications involving microbial transfer and inoculation. The device comprises a bamboo stick functioning as a handle, a loop formed from a thin wooden filament, and a thread binding mechanism securing the loop to the handle. The wooden loop is configured as a closed circular or oval structure having an internal diameter of approximately 4 mm, enabling the retention and transfer of a controlled volume of microbial inoculum. The device is fabricated entirely from natural and biodegradable materials, eliminating the use of metal and plastic components. It is suitable for microbiological procedures such as streak plating, colony isolation, and culture transfer. The invention provides an eco-friendly, cost-effective, and disposable alternative to conventional inoculating loops, reducing laboratory waste and environmental impact while maintaining functional efficiency.
