Abstract: The combination of rising plastic waste and other waste materials with fast-paced urban development creates a major environmental problem. The project presents SMARTREUSE which functions as a system that combines deep learning with blockchain technology to support environmentally friendly waste disposal through its DIY waste management solutions. The system uses a deep learning model that has been developed through extensive training on multiple data points to achieve precise waste material identification. The system uses web scraping to gather DIY reuse information after it identifies waste materials while it keeps extra recommendations in a blockchain database for later access. The system uses blockchain technology to create a transparent and secure record system which documents all transactions while Ethereum-based smart contracts authenticate user generated DIY content. The system provides a web-based interface which enables users to interact with the system without any difficulties. The experimental results demonstrate that the system successfully performs object recognition while blockchain technology works effectively and the system retrieves DIY recommendations with high efficiency. The system enables creative waste material reuse which supports sustainability efforts and resource preservation while it solves major challenges that traditional waste management systems encounter.
