Abstract: ABSTRACT Dynamic Natural-Language Privacy-Decision Explainability Engine The present invention relates to a Dynamic Natural-Language Privacy-Decision Explainability Engine configured to automatically generate a natural-language explanation for a privacy-preserving mechanism assigned to a data attribute. The system receives a mechanism-assignment event, retrieves a decomposition of sensitivity sub-scores that contributed to the assignment, and calculates a utility-retention estimate representing the extent to which the assigned privacy mechanism preserves the analytical usefulness of the data attribute relative to an unperturbed version. The system selects a suitable natural-language template from a template corpus according to the type of assigned privacy-preserving mechanism and populates the selected template using values derived from the sensitivity sub-score decomposition and the calculated utility-retention estimate. The resulting natural-language explanation is presented through a display panel, thereby providing a human-readable and quantitatively grounded justification for the privacy-mechanism assignment. The explainability engine operates dynamically in response to subsequent privacy-mechanism switching events. When a different privacy-preserving mechanism is assigned to the same data attribute, the system automatically retrieves the updated sub-scores, recalculates the utility-retention estimate, selects and populates an appropriate template, and replaces the previously presented explanation with an updated natural-language explanation. This provides continuously current privacy-decision justification without requiring manual intervention from clinical or compliance personnel.
