MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511083018 A) filed by Dr. Lalit Makhija on September 01, 2025, for Dynamic External Tissue Expansion Device.

Inventor includes Dr. Lalit Makhija.

The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a skin expansion device (100) for gradual closure of a wound by mechanical stretching of surrounding skin tissue. The device (100) comprises at least one flexible and stretchable tensioning element (102) having opposite end portions (104) and a body portion (106), configured to apply continuous tensile force to skin surrounding the wound. At least two anchoring support bases (108) and a plurality of anchoring components (110) secure the tensioning element (102) to opposite sides of the wound and transfer the tensile force to progressively stretch surrounding tissue. At least one bridging element (112) is positioned within the wound when a wound width exceeds a predetermined value, supporting the tensioning element (102) above the wound and preventing pressure on the skin and soft tissue surrounding the wound.
