Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for incorporating carbon footprint data into global food trading and procurement procedures is the subject of the current invention. The system consists of a Dynamic Carbon Attribution Engine that is set up to use emissions data related to production, processing, packing, storage, transportation, and distribution activities to create carbon footprint profiles at the product level. While a Carbon Normalisation and Benchmarking Engine creates standardised carbon-performance indicators for cross-regional comparison, a Carbon Verification Framework verifies the collected carbon data. In an international food exchange setting, a Carbon-Aware Trade Matching Engine performs supplier evaluation, rating, purchase suggestion, and transaction processing using the standardised indicators and commercial factors.
