Abstract: ABSTRACT DYNAMIC 5G NETWORK SLICING SYSTEM FOR IoT TRAFFIC PRIORITISATION IN SMART CITIES A software-defined 5G network slicing management system (100) for smart city IoT deployments dynamically allocates network slice resources based on real-time IoT category traffic volumes and emergency event priority signals. A traffic monitoring module (110) measures throughput and latency per IoT category. A slice resource manager (120) employs a priority-weighted proportional allocation engine (122) that guarantees minimum bandwidth per category and distributes headroom capacity proportionally weighted by priority upon threshold breach. An emergency priority module (130) preemptively reallocates resources to emergency services categories upon receipt of an emergency event signal through a preemption controller (134). A network operations dashboard (140) provides real-time slice utilisation and quality-of-service compliance reporting. The invention addresses the static slice profile limitation of existing 5G management systems by enabling real-time demand-responsive resource allocation across diverse smart city IoT traffic categories.
