Abstract: A modular orthodontic plier assembly is disclosed comprising a handle assembly having a working end terminating in a projecting post of hexagonal cross-section, and a plurality of interchangeable beak tips, including an Adams-type tip and a Universal-type tip, each provided with a corresponding female socket of hexagonal cross- section at its base. The hexagonal post projects to approximately half the length of the beak tip, and the mating hexagonal faces distribute torque evenly during wire bending, resisting rotational play and misalignment of the tip under sustained clinical force. The tip is secured to the post by an interference fit and may be withdrawn and interchanged without tools. The assembly eliminates the requirement of separate dedicated Adams and Universal pliers, reducing instrument inventory and cost while preserving the rigidity and precision expected of a dedicated single-purpose instrument.
