MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621096424 A) filed by Rayzon Solar Limited on August 10, 2026, for Dual-Section Thermally Conductive Junction Box Lid With Passive Temperature Indication For Photovoltaic Modules.
Inventors include Shashwata Chattopadhyay; Bhuwanesh Kumar Sharma; and Akash Lohar.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT DUAL-SECTION THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE JUNCTION BOX LID WITH PASSIVE TEMPERATURE INDICATION FOR PHOTOVOLTAIC MODULES An apparatus (100) comprises a photovoltaic junction box having a junction box housing (108) and a temperature-indicating lid mounted thereon. The temperature-indicating lid (103) comprises an outer section (101), an inner section (102), a sealed cavity (104) defined therebetween, a temperature-sensitive liquid (106) contained within the sealed cavity (104), and a graduated temperature scale (105) visible through the outer section (101). The inner section (102) is formed from a thermally conductive polymeric material configured to conduct heat generated within the photovoltaic junction box to the temperature-sensitive liquid (106). The temperature-sensitive liquid (106) undergoes reversible volumetric expansion and contraction relative to the graduated temperature scale (105) to provide a passive visual indication of the operating temperature of the photovoltaic junction box. A thermally conductive potting material (302) establishes a conductive thermal path from one or more bypass diodes (304) to the inner section (102), thereby improving temperature indication accuracy with reduced thermal lag.
