Abstract: The present invention relates to a dual-mode portable air sampling system configured for selective standalone ground-level operation and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) integrated aerial operation. The system comprises a sampling assembly (200) including a motor-driven rotatable impeller (204) configured to generate active airflow, an air sampler body defining a particulate capture zone, a tangential inlet (210) for introducing ambient air, and a detachable collecting apparatus (208) having a convergent geometry for inertial deposition and recovery of airborne material. An electronic speed controller (106, 304) regulates motor speed and is operatively connected through a dual-mode electrical interface to either a portable control unit (104) during standalone operation or a UAV flight controller (302) during aerial operation. The sampling assembly (200) is mountable to a UAV frame and aligned with the combined centre of mass of the sampling assembly (200) and the UAV to preserve aerial flight stability during sampling operations.
