MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641079994 A) filed by Sona College Of Technology on June 29, 2026, for Dual Heating Electric Resistance Crucible Furnace For Aluminium Melting.
Inventors include Balasuadhakar A; and Muralidharan K.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT A dual heating electric resistance crucible furnace for aluminium melting is disclosed. The furnace comprises an outer steel casing, a gypsum-based refractory insulation layer, a centrally positioned crucible container, a plurality of circumferentially arranged vertical nichrome heating coils, and a bottom heating coil assembly disposed beneath the crucible container. The dual- heating arrangement provides combined radial and axial heat transfer for uniform temperature distribution and accelerated aluminium melting. An electrical supply system, ceramic insulators, and a temperature control system ensure safe and efficient operation. The furnace operates at approximately 1 kW power, reduces heat loss, lowers manufacturing cost, and is particularly suitable for small- scale industrial applications.
