Abstract: The present invention relates to smart gelatin-based oral strips configured for simultaneous oral pH monitoring and pH-regulated teeth whitening. Conventional whitening strips release bleaching agents continuously iirespective of oral pH, leading to enamel erosion, dentinal sensitivity, and mucosal irritation. The disclosed strips are fabricated using gelatin as a film-forming polymer, glycerol as a plasticizer, red-cabbage-derived anthocyanins as a natural pH-sensitive color indicator, calcium carbonate as an alkaline whitening agent, and sodium benzoate as a preservative. The strips exhibit distinct, reversible color transitions corresponding to oral pH conditions, appearing pink-red under acidic, purple near neutral, and blue-green under mildly alkaline environments, enabling real-time visual assessment of oral conditions. Under alkaline pH, calcium carbonate is selectively activated to facilitate safe whitening, while remaining inactive under acidic conditions to prevent enamel damage. This CD
