The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a dual-function robotic gripper (100) for harvesting clove buds. Two opposed jaw members (16, 18) are fixed to the two carriages (12, 14) of a parallel-jaw actuator (10). Each jaw member is a single C-profile body with a base portion (20), an upright web (22) and an inwardly projecting holding finger (24) carrying a compliant pad (26). A cutting blade (28) is fixed to the base portion below the holding finger, with its cutting edge (30) projecting inwards. The holding fingers form an upper holding pair and the blades a lower cutting pair, so that one closing stroke grips the bud with the pads and severs the stem below it with the blades, with no separate cutting actuator. The bud remains held for transfer to a collection point. In trials at 50 N gripping force, cutting took 0.5 s in each cycle.
