Abstract: ABSTRACT DUAL CROSSLINKED INJECTABLE HYDROGEL COMPOSITION AND PROCESS FOR PREPARATION THEREOF The present invention relates to a dual crosslinked hydrogel composition (100) comprising thiolated chitosan and thiolated stearic acid for neuronal tissue engineering and spinal cord injury repair. The thiolated polymers contain free thiol groups that oxidize to form disulfide linkages, thereby forming a primary three-dimensional hydrogel network. The network is further stabilized by secondary crosslinking with citric acid, thereby enhancing mechanical strength, structural integrity, and antioxidant properties. The hydrogel composition (100) is injectable, biomimetic, and capable of mimicking the extracellular matrix characteristics of spinal tissue. The composition exhibits reactive oxygen species scavenging activity, supports neuronal cell adhesion and proliferation, and promotes axonal extension at injury sites. The dual crosslinking mechanism provides improved stability and controlled biodegradation, making it suitable for regenerative applications. The invention further relates to a method of preparing the hydrogel composition (100) and to its therapeutic application in neuronal regeneration. Figure. 1
