MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641092889 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education on July 31, 2026, for Dual Axis Water Sprinkler Carriage With Retractable Height Adjuster Nozzles For Mushroom Growing Chamber.
Inventors include Dr. S. Shasi; and Dr. P. Jayakumar.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The titled invention discloses an automated irrigation system for mushroom growing chambers, particularly a dual-axis water sprinkler carriage with retractable height adjuster nozzles for uniform water distribution across multiple cultivation levels. The system comprises a wall-mounted frame (1) supporting a linear horizontal carriage (2) 10 and a vertically movable retractable carriage (3) having a three-layer telescopic structure. The horizontal linear drive motor (7) enables bidirectional movement along the length of the cultivation chamber and retractable drive motors (5) actuates the retractable carriage(3) through a lead screw assembly (6) to accurately position the spray nozzle holder (4) at different heights. Water is supplied from the water storage 15 tank (8) through a water pump (9) and a flexible water passing pipeline (12) to the spray nozzles. A timer-activated interface (11) automatically controls the irrigation sequence by synchronizing carriage movement and water delivery according to predetermined schedules. The coordinated horizontal and vertical movements ensure uniform irrigation, improved humidity regulation, reduced water consumption, 20 enhanced mushroom growth, and reduced manual intervention while providing efficient, reliable, and automated cultivation chamber irrigation.
