Abstract: This project presents the design and development of DgEye-OptoBench, a non-contact optical biosensing system created to evaluate tear film quality by analyzing break-up dynamics and evaporation behavior. The objective is to modernize ocular surface health screening through a precise, compact, and non-invasive optical bench capable of measuring tear film stability, tear evaporation rate, and surface scattering characteristics. The device incorporates a structured LED illumination module, optical sensors, a high-speed image acquisition system, and a micro controller based processing unit to quantify tear film dynamics without contacting the eye. Unlike traditional dry eye assessments that rely on subjective interpretation, Dry Eye-Opto Bench provides consistent and repeatable measurements by analyzing optical scattering, reflectance uniformity, and time varying tear film changes. Initial testing suggests improved diagnostic accuracy, enhanced repeatability, and user-friendly operation. The project bridges ophthalmic diagnostics with advanced optoelectronics, making tear film evaluation more reliable and suitable for clinics, screening camps, and research environments.
