MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641066559 A) filed by Dr. B. Dhinesh; Dr. P. V. Lnbanaathan; and S. Jawahar Raj on May 27, 2026, for Droplet Scale Combustion Experimental Setup For Fuel Characterization With Integrated Flame, thermal.
Inventors include Dr. B. Dhinesh; Dr. P. V. Lnbanaathan; and S. Jawahar Raj.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a droplet-scale combustion experimental setup designed for advanced analysis of nano-fuel combustion. The system integrates high-speed imaging, thermal sensing, and emission monitoring within a controlled chamber environment. The apparatus enables precise measurement of ignition delay, flame characteristics, droplet regression, and emission behaviour. The invention is particularly useful for studying nanoparticle-infused biofuels and provides improved accuracy and repeatability compared to conventional methods. Furthermore, the system facilitates detailed investigation of transient combustion phenomena such as microexplosion, bubble dynamics, and secondary atomization under controlled conditions. In addition, the integrated multi-diagnostic approach enhances the reliability of experimental data, enabling comprehensive evaluation of combustion efficiency and pollutant formation mechanisms.
