The DMI system (102) includes display module (204) to provide audio-visual representations of the communication protocol converted plurality of signals and one or more locomotive insights from the locomotive. One or more locomotive insights indicate one or more parameters associated with the operation of the locomotive. The display module (204) provides control options to a driver of locomotive. The control options are based on plurality of audio-visual representations of the communication protocol converted plurality of signals and one or more locomotive insights from the locomotive. The control options indicate parameters received as a driver input for the operation of the locomotive.
