The differential mechanism (32;332;432;532) includes first through third rotary elements (RE1,RE2,RE3). The engine (20) and the first electric motor (MG1) are connected to 10 the first rotary element (RE1). The second electric motor (MG2) is connected to the second rotary element (RE2). The first drive shaft (38) is connected to the third rotary element (RE3). The third electric motor (MG3) is connected to the second drive shaft (58). The processor is configured to cause the second electric motor (MG2) to generate a torque (T2ad), when performing a series driving in which the first electric 15 motor (MG1) is operated as an electric generator by operation of the engine (20), and the third electric motor (MG3) is operated as a prime mover by an electric power generated by the first electric motor (MG1).
