MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511020535 A) filed by Chandigarh Engineering College Jhanjeri on March 06, 2025, for Drill Dust Collecting Device.

Inventor includes Dr. Amrit Pal Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A drill dust collecting device, comprises of a pair of annular members 101, having electromagnetic springs 102 for enabling adjustment of gap between the members 101, a microphone 110 configured on the housing for receiving an audio command from a user regarding attaching with the drill, a pair of rectangular flaps 103 attached with the upper member 101 by means of ball and socket joints, a plurality of suction units for mounting the members 101 against a surface to be drilled by affixing the flaps 103, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 determines length of drill bit, an L-shaped telescopic rod 106, provided with a clamp 108 for holding a drill within member 101, a plurality of suction nozzles 107 connected to a chamber for suctioning and storing of debris generated during drilling.
