MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611088580 A) filed by K. R. Mangalam University on July 21, 2026, for Drift-Resistant Analog Joystick Assembly With Dynamic Fabric-Based Sealing System.
Inventors include Akshat Jerath; Annu Yadav; and Versha Verma.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: A joystick assembly has a housing (2) with an aperture through which a joystick shaft (5), carrying a cap (1) and mounted on an internal joystick base assembly (6), tilts omnidirectionally. A fabric seal (3) closes the aperture and is a laminate of an elastomeric base layer (3a) and a textile layer (3b) which passes gas but not particulate matter or liquid water, so the internal pressure equalises and no air is pumped past the seal as the shaft moves. Beneath it a segmented radial seal (4) of circumferentially overlapping arcuate segments bears on the joystick shaft (5) and defines a labyrinth path. The two seals act in series and move with the joystick shaft (5), excluding ingress and internally generated debris and so resisting drift.
