Abstract: The invention relates to a metering device (33), preferably for subcutaneously administering a fluid, comprising a housing (20), a reservoir container (2) with a container interior (3), an infusion cannula (8), and a drive assembly (9). The housing (20) is designed in multiple parts, comprising a first housing part (14) and a second housing part (24), wherein the first housing part (14) and the second housing part (24) can be assembled preferably in precisely one installation movement. A metering piston (5) which is positioned in the container interior (3) and which can be moved in an advancing direction (4) is received in the reservoir container (2), and the infusion cannula (8) can be fluidically coupled to the front section (6) of the container interior (3). The drive assembly (9) comprises a drive source (10) and a drive section (11) which is drivingly coupled to the metering piston (5), said drive section (11) comprising a pushing or pulling means (12) which is drivingly coupled to the metering piston (5), and the drive section (11) comprises a drive element (17) which can be directly drivingly coupled to the pushing or pulling means (12) and which drives a rotational movement. The drive element (17) is drivingly coupled to the drive source (10), and the metering device (33) can be converted to a ready-for-use state by assembling the first housing part (14) and the second housing part (24), in particular solely by means of an installation movement of the metering device (33).
