MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441104977 A) filed by Vantive Health Gmbh; and Vantive Us Healthcare LLC on December 31, 2024, for Dose Mechanism & Gas Vent Management – Decalcification Sequence.

Inventor includes Jeyachandran, Ramkumar.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT “DECALCIFICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AN AUTOMATED PERITONEAL DIALYSIS CYCLER” The present disclosure sets forth an automated peritoneal dialysis (“APD”) cycler system that periodically performs disinfection and decalcification cycles. During a decalcification cycle, a concentrated citric acid solution is introduced into the APD cycler system to dissolve scale buildup. The citric acid reacts chemically with residual dialysis fluid in fluid paths, thereby producing gas and air bubbles as a byproduct. The accumulation of gas and bubbles in the fluid lines can increase pressure, leading to potential bursting of the fluid lines, junctions, or other system failures. To mitigate these issues, the present disclosure sets forth mechanisms to efficiently dose citric acid, prevent leaks, and vent gas to maintain optimal operating conditions.
