Abstract: The present invention presents a compact mini-hydro power generation and energy storage system that harnesses the kinetic energy of gravity-driven water flowing from overhead tanks in buildings to produce usable electricity. This innovative setup employs a readily available 12V DC mini-turbine installed along water outlet pipes, converting water flow into electrical power that is then regulated, stored in a lithium-ion battery protected by a Battery Management System (BMS), and supplied to various low-power applications. By integrating rectification, voltage regulation, and intelligent battery protection, the system delivers a reliable, weather-independent renewable energy solution suitable for urban, rural, and industrial environments. Experimental results confirm effective power generation and battery charging under typical household flow conditions, offering a practical, low-cost, and sustainable supplement to conventional electricity for lighting, ventilation, device charging, and sensor operations while promoting efficient water and energy resource utilization.
