MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621112077 A) filed by Rayzon Solar Limited on September 18, 2026, for Distributed Thermal Safety Shutdown System For Split Photovoltaic Junction Boxes.

Inventors include Shashwata Chattopadhyay; Akash Lohar; and Monirul Jaque Mallick.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: A distributed thermal safety shutdown system for a photovoltaic module (100) comprises a plurality of spatially separated junction boxes including a master junction box (120) and at least one satellite junction box (110a-110n). Each satellite junction box comprises a temperature sensor (111a-111n), controller (112a-112n), and wireless communication circuit (113a-113n) configured to determine present and predicted future temperatures and transmit temperature-adaptive heartbeat signals. The master junction box (120) comprises a temperature sensor (121), wireless communication circuit (122), controller (123), gate driver (124), and electrically controllable disconnect device (125). The master controller (123) monitors heartbeat signals and causes interruption of photovoltaic-module current based on present temperature, predicted future temperature, or heartbeat timeout. Hardware thermal protection, bypass-diode protection, fail-safe disconnection, adaptive power management, and controlled thermal recovery provide layered protection against abnormal heating and communication or component failures.
