MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641101856 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on August 24, 2026, for Distributed Microgrid Control System For Predictive Outage Risk Assessment And Emergency Energy Allocation.

Inventors include Raviteja Buddala; and Shivani Jogiya.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: A distributed microgrid control system (100) includes household edge devices (102), a neighbourhood aggregator (106), and a grid interface node (112). The household edge devices (102) provide electrical energy data associated with respective households. The neighbourhood aggregator (106) determines prosumer-specific parameters based on the electrical energy data and historical operating data and generates an outage-risk value for each feeder segment of electrical distribution infrastructure (104) using a physics-informed electrical network model based on feeder information, electrical distribution measurements, energy forecasts, and weather information (118). When the outage-risk value exceeds a predetermined threshold, the neighbourhood aggregator pre-computes and stores a priority score for each network node before an emergency condition. In response to the emergency condition, available electrical energy is allocated according to the stored priority scores. FIG. 1
