MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109576 A) filed by G. L. Bajaj Institute Of Technology And Management on September 12, 2026, for Distributed Edge And Federated Healthcare Analytics System For Interpretable Disease Prediction.

Inventors include Shriansh Vikram Singh; Dr Sansar Singh Chauhan; and Shikhar Prateek Pandey.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a distributed healthcare analytics system that produces an interpretable disease prediction while retaining raw patient data at respective healthcare institutions. Physiological sensing devices acquire patient physiological data for edge computing nodes. Each edge computing node preprocesses local patient data, trains a local prediction model, and generates local model parameters without transmitting the local patient data. A federated learning server aggregates parameters received from multiple edge computing nodes into a global prediction model and redistributes the global prediction model for subsequent local training. An explanation processor generates a feature-importance score and a confidence value for a disease prediction produced using the global prediction model. A clinician terminal presents the disease prediction and the explanation for clinical decision support. Separation of institutional data processing from global model coordination limits transfer of sensitive records while supporting collaborative prediction.
