Abstract: Disclosed are a display apparatus and a method of manufacturing the liquid crystal display panel (100), configured to improve the transmittance of a sensing area (HA) and thereby increasing the recognition rate of an optical device (350). The display apparatus includes a liquid crystal display panel (100) having an active area (AA) defined by a plurality of pixel areas (PA) formed by overlapping gate lines (GL) and data lines (DL), and a bezel area (BZ) located outside the active area (AA). A sensing area (HA) is located within the active area (AA) and overlaps an optical device (350) disposed below the panel (100). A backlight unit (200) is positioned beneath the liquid crystal display panel (100). In the active area (AA) excluding the sensing area (HA), the data lines (DL) include a metal material, while in the sensing area (HA), the data lines (DL) include a transparent conductive material, thereby improving optical transmittance through the sensing area (HA) without requiring additional mask processes during fabrication.
