The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dispersible granular biofumigant formulation of defatted mustard cake for management of soil-borne pathogens. The formulation comprises 100 parts by weight defatted mustard seed cake powder of Brassica juncea (L.) Czern, 4 parts Crospovidone XL, 2 parts sodium starch glycolate, 2 parts polyvinylpyrrolidone K-30, 10 parts pre-gelatinized starch and ethanol as granulating solvent. The formulation is a free-flowing water-dispersible granule having particle size less than or equal to 1 mm and more than 90% water solubility or dispersibility. Upon moistening, the formulation facilitates hydrolysis of glucosinolates into volatile isothiocyanates, thereby suppressing soil-borne fungal pathogens including Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Sclerotium rolfsii and Rhizoctonia bataticola. The formulation further creates conditions favouring beneficial rhizosphere microbes for soil fertility and plant growth.
