Abstract: A system and method are provided for enabling user equipment discovery in a telecommunications network. For that purpose, the system and method may access records of user equipment (UE), wherein a respective record may identify a UE and identify one or more services which the UE is configured to provide, and enable an application server to discover UE which are configured to provide a service of interest by i) receiving a discovery request from the application server, wherein the discovery request is indicative of the service of interest, ii) searching the records for UE matching the service of interest to obtain a search result, and iii) providing the search result to the application server. This way, an application server is enabled to discover UE which is/are capable of providing a service of interest to the application server.
