Abstract: ABSTRACT DISCARD PARAMETER ADAPTATION Autonomous adjustment of configurable parameters at User Equipment (UE). In an embodiment, an apparatus (e.g., UE) is configured to receive a radio resource control message from a radio access network node of a network, and extract an autonomous configuration from a radio resource control information element of the radio resource control message. The autonomous configuration is associated with a discard procedure for buffered data units at a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer. The autonomous configuration includes at least one configuration trigger corresponding to a network condition, and at least one configuration action configured to adjust one or more configurable parameters related to the discard procedure upon occurrence of the at least one configuration trigger.
