Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is a direction-dependent passive mechanical transmission system comprising a rotary drive source having a shaft rotatable in first and second rotational directions. A first one-way clutch assembly is disposed at a first end of the shaft and drives a first load during rotation of the shaft in the first rotational direction while freewheeling during opposite rotation. A second one-way clutch assembly is disposed at a second end of the shaft in an opposite locking orientation and drives a first pulley during rotation of the shaft in the second rotational direction while freewheeling during opposite rotation. A belt extends between the first pulley and a second pulley coupled to a second load, thereby transmitting torque from the first pulley to the second pulley to drive the second load.
