MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511006425 A) filed by Schneider Electric India Private Limited on January 27, 2025, for Direct Drive Motor Operator Installation On Circuit Breaker At Switch Off State.
Inventor includes Dash, Debasmita.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The present invention provides a direct drive motor operator installation system for molded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) (2), ensuring safe and reliable operation by allowing installation only when the MCCB is in the OFF state. The system includes a motor operator (1) with a lower base (3) fixed on the MCCB (2) and an upper base (4) hinged to the lower base. A rack/slider (5) mounted on the upper base engages with the MCCB knob (6) in the OFF state. An interlock (7), spring-biased by a biasing spring (8), blocks the MCCB knob (6) when the MCCB is in the ON or TRIP state, preventing installation. The interlock (7) includes a cam feature that slides in an anticlockwise direction when the rack/slider (5) slides the knob (6), clearing the path for installation. This system enhances safety, prevents damage, and ensures proper alignment and engagement during installation. FIGURES 3 AND 4(a), 4(b)
