A plurality of alignment portions are provided to position the cylindrical cells (104) and synchronize left-hand and right-hand holders during module assembly. The holder further incorporates bosses (900) in bolt regions to prevent electrical shorting between module fasteners and adjacent cells, and structural ribs to distribute load, provide stress relief, and enable the holder to act as a load-bearing member.
