MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202431096241 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology Mizoram on December 05, 2024, for Dihydropyrimidin-2-(1h)-One (dhpm) Based Cationic Surfactants And A Method Of Green Multicomponent Synthesis Thereof.

Abstract: “DIHYDROPYRIMIDIN-2-(1H)-ONE (DHPM) BASED CATIONIC SURFACTANTS AND A METHOD OF GREEN MULTICOMPONENT SYNTHESIS THEREOF” The present invention provides novel dihydropyrimidin-2-(1H)-one (DHPM) based cationic surfactant of Formula 1, wherein the R group is a carbon chain selected from the group consisting of an alkyl carbon chain with 8 carbons, an alkyl carbon chain with 12 carbons, and an alkyl carbon chain with 16 carbons. Said Formula 1 with alkyl chain of 8 carbons form Formula 2. Said Formula 1 with alkyl chain of 12 carbons form Formula 3. Said Formula 1 with alkyl chain of 16 carbons form Formula 4. The invention further relates to synthesis of dihydropyrimidin-2-(1h)-one (DHPM) based cationic surfactants using green multicomponent reaction. Formula 1.
